The hosts couldn’t find a way past the organised Seagulls but managed to keep things tight at the opposite end to claim a point. Acknowledging Brighton’s quality, Coady insists Wolves must take their point and move on quickly, ahead of a busy week.
On registering a point
“It’s one of them, you always say, if you’re not going to win, don’t get beat. I’ll be honest, I think they’re a really good side. They’ve come, they were organised, they dug in, kept their shape and they’re tough to play against.”
On Brighton’s quality
“They’re good in possession. We realised that playing at their place earlier in the year. They’re good on the ball, they move it and block the midfield with a lot of bodies. There was sticky times and spells for both teams, so a point was fair, and we move on.
“We’re disappointed because we want to win every game, they’re a good side, 11 players against you, they were organised, stayed in shape, and moved it quite well. It was up to us to dig in, but we didn’t lose, so we’ll take the point and move forward.”
On keeping a clean sheet
“It’s always better when we win, but you’ve got to keep clean sheets, it’s important in this division. It’s such a tough division to play in, we’re up against the best teams in the world. It’s huge that we try and build on that. The last few weeks have been OK, but we want to keep on building.”
On Traore’s impact
“Adama excites everybody, whether he starts or comes on. The crowd sing his name. He’s a fantastic footballer and is always going to help this team. It doesn’t matter who is playing for us, they’ll always help us, put in a shift and do the right job for us. Adama brings excitement, so does Jota, so does Jimenez, so we’ve got a good forward line.”
