With Wolves trailing to Olympiakos in their Europa League last 16 first leg, Joao Moutinho rolled a free-kick for Neto to strike, which caught the hosts off guard and forced the crucial deflection. That away goal was vital for Wolves and Neto was pleased to contribute, following his half-time introduction.
On the clever set piece
“This one was improvised. We are focused on the game, trying to get the best strategy to do the goal. It was a good shot and we got the goal.
“With one more player we wanted to win, of course. This goal was important because it was away from home and, now we want to win the second leg, but now we have to think of West Ham.”
On making an impact off the bench
“Happy for the goal. It was a good result obviously because we scored one goal, away from home, but with one more man we wanted to win. It was not possible, but we are already focused on the next one.
“I have to be prepared. If it’s in the first minute of the first-half, I’m always prepared, never surprised. I try to help the team, do my best and we want to win, but we didn’t get the win, so we are already focused on the next one.”
On playing with no fans
“Of course, it’s not the same. The fans are the football. We play for the fans, of course, because the beauty of the football is the fans in the stadium, in the games, but it was not possible.”
On the second leg
“We’ll give our best, like always. We’ll work hard, all the weeks, the days. We will try to win now the next game, then we’ll of the Europa League.”
