The Belgian struck the decisive blow over Aston Villa, finding the bottom corner from the edge of the box brilliantly, but also played his part in an organised team display. Wolves restricted Villa to half chances and proved too tough to break down, continuing their perfect record since the restart of Premier League football, much to the delight of match-winner Dendoncker.
On his team goal
“We know, and everyone knows, that he [Traore] can do that. From the side, even from the middle of the pitch, he went to make the run again and Jonny gave a good assist for me and I just shot.”
On another disciplined performance
“It was very good. I just think we played a good game again. I think we controlled most parts of the game.
“Only in the end, the last ten minutes, it was quite hard obviously because they were losing so were trying to attack and to score.”
On a mean defence
“I think we kept it really tight and don’t think we gave a lot – I don’t think we have in the last three games.
“I think it’s something which is very important and a lot of people forget that we didn’t concede a lot of goals in the last few games. That’s the merit of the whole team and very nice.”
On high aspirations for the run-in
“It’s nice to dream. I think everyone dreams. We also have to be very realistic, we have some tough games coming up now, but it’s good we took nine out of nine.
“We take it game by game and just have to do our best in every game.”
