John Egan’s injury time header gave the Blades all three points to move the South Yorkshire outfit within a hair’s width of their opponents, but with chances falling to both teams in an evenly-matched contest, Nuno believes it was the finest of margins which tipped the scales in Wolves’ second defeat in five days.
On back-to-back Premier League defeats
“Football is like that. It goes until the last minute. It was a well-disputed game. Both teams really, really intense in the game and it could have gone both ways.
“Today we played better. We had chances, Sheffield had chances, but we have to stay focused till the end and of course, we must have defended better in that moment, from the corner.
“Up to a point, the teams cancelled each other out. We were well matched and could have gone both ways. It was a very good game of football but we were punished in the end.
“It’s not just about the end of the game, we have to analyse the whole game. So it’s tough, but we have to bounce back.”
On lack of goals in recent games
“We’ve created chances but it’s very difficult to play against Sheffield. It requires different things from us, a little bit more deep.
“We had a lot of situations where we unbalanced Sheffield, we had good movements and good chances that we should be more clinical from, but our counter attacks must be better.”
On improving from the weekend
“Yes, I believe that. Now we are in pain, but we will stand up and react tomorrow.”
On Neves hitting the bar with a free-kick
“It’s small margins, isn’t it? But that’s football.”
On Traore’s shoulder injury
“He’s struggling. It’s an issue that he had before. He managed to recover, but again he had a strong impact, so he’s in pain.
“I hope he’ll be ok for the weekend, but we’ll see.”
On bouncing back against Everton
“We have to focus. Our mind it to compete every game and at the end we will see where we are. We still have a lot of challenges in front of us, in the Premier League and Europa League.
“But now, we have to recover, we have to react, and it’s going to be tough, but let’s get ready for Everton.”
