The Portuguese pair first linked up at Porto four years ago, before making the same move to Wolves in 2017. Since then, the duo have frequently linked up to devastating effect and their telepathy was on show at Molineux at the weekend as Neves fed Jota to ensure Wolves were well and truly back on track with victory.
On his pass for the third goal
“To be honest, I know Diogo [Jota] very well. As soon as I took the ball from Bernard, I knew that he’d run because I’ve played with him for four years now, so we know each other really well, so I knew he’s go for the back of the centre half.
“I had a look to see where I needed to put the ball and I tried the pass and fortunately he did a great goal – what a finish from him.”
On contributing to the team
“If I help the team, I’m really happy. It doesn’t matter if it’s a goal, if it’s a pass, a great game in defence, it doesn’t matter.
“My target is always to do my best to help the team to get the three points and fortunately today we did really well.”
Look how happy @rubendsneves_

On bouncing back on Sunday
“It was perfect for us, to be honest. What a reaction from everyone. Like I said after the last game, it’s all about improving and trying to do better in the next one and I think we did it, since the beginning of the game.
“We controlled it. I can’t remember a good chance in the first-half for Everton. I think the result at half-time was deserved for us and then we came back really strong, we scored early on in the second-half and just controlled the game.
“Of course, they had a few balls in our box, but it’s normal, they needed to go for the result. I think we did really well.”
On Podence’s impact
“He’s a great player. He showed before, in the games he played. I’m really happy for him, everyone’s really happy for him, because he’s a great player.
“He had the patience to wait for his chance and he showed that we are a great squad, everyone is ready for the game and fortunately he did a great game and it was really good for us.”
