Norris heads to Burnley

Will Norris has joined Premier League side Burnley, bringing an end to his three years at Molineux.

The goalkeeper made eight appearances for Wolves after joining the club from Cambridge United at the start of Nuno Espirito Santo’s time in charge back in the summer of 2017.

During his first year at Molineux, Norris backed up number one stopper John Ruddy, playing in the final game of the 2017/18 season as Wolves went on to lift the Championship title.

However, it was during an impressive cup spell that Norris excelled for the old gold, keeping five clean sheets in six appearances during FA Cup games and a run to the League Cup fourth round.

Norris didn’t concede a goal from open play throughout that entire four-game League Cup campaign, keeping out Yeovil Town and Southampton over 90 minutes, as well as Bristol Rovers and Premier League champions Manchester City – who Wolves eventually fell to on penalties – during the course of two 120-minute ties.

However, the 26-year-old found his playing time limited following Wolves’ promotion to the Premier League and the arrival of Portugal number one Rui Patricio, with the Watford-born stopper spending last season on loan at Ipswich Town, playing 15 times for the League One outfit.

Everyone at Wolves would like to wish Will the best of luck at Turf Moor.
