Having fallen behind just after half-time, goals from Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto saw the hosts take the win at Molineux, and although it was a game which was empty from Wolves supporters, Neves believed that the players could feel the stadium’s electric atmosphere, which helped push them to victory.
On ending a run of defeats
“Our reaction was fantastic and I’m really proud of everyone. We have great players, such a great team, and I think the team spirit today was amazing.
“It was really good, and we came from two defeats from the last two games. Two defeats in a row in the Premier League is really hard to come back from, so today was a great game, a great result for us and will give us confidence for the future.”
On the spirit within the squad
“The way we played, the spirit we showed, it was a great win against a very hard team to play. Chelsea are a very good team, they are very hard to play against, they have very good quality, but our spirit was better than theirs today.
“It’s not easy to concede a goal against a team like Chelsea and then do a comeback only on the second-half, so I think everyone is very happy with the result and we are really proud.”

On feeling a Molineux atmosphere
“We have had a number of games with a fantastic atmosphere which we are used to playing in front of in Molineux, and I think we felt that atmosphere today, even without the fans.
“We felt that we needed to win for them as well, and I’m really happy that we have done it.”
On reverting to five at the back
“We need to have solutions for everything. I think the gaffer needs to make the decisions for the games and today he felt the back five would be the best solution for this game, it worked, so we are all really happy with that.”
