The 18-year-old put in an excellent display at right wing-back as he deputised from the start in place of Nelson Semedo, and was part of a Wolves defence which looked solid and compact, and did not allow the hosts clear cut chances on goal. That was until Marcus Rashford struck a decisive blow in the late stages of the contest.
On a first Premier League start for Wolves
“I was hoping for this moment to come. Of course, I’ve been in the squad for almost all the games this season, so I was hoping to play any time soon, and I’m happy that it happened today.
“But I’m just not happy with the result at the end. It would have been better if we’d have kept a clean sheet.”
On defeat at Old Trafford
“It hurts really bad. In the beginning of the match we played some good football, some good counter-attacks. I think at the end of the half, they were having the ball a bit more and we were compact as a team and we defended well.
“In the second-half, it was a bit more of the same, we started well and then at the end, they had more of the possession and we couldn’t really hold the ball, and then it’s painful that they score in the last minute.
“At the end I feel disappointed that we didn’t get one point, so I’m not really happy at the moment, but I’m proud that I started today.”
On tired legs being a factor
“It could be. We’ve had two tough games in a really short period of time, so I understand the boys who played the game on Sunday having heavy legs from that game, so it could be.”
On a game of few chances
“As a team we were defensively ok, of course we can improve a lot of things, but we had Manchester United down for almost all of the game, they didn’t really have any big chances, and then it’s just really unlucky that they scored in the last minute.
“In the last game against Tottenham, Saiss did it then and he had a few chances this game as well, but he was unlucky that they didn’t go in.”
