The striker came off the bench midway through the second period as Wolves attempted to get something from the game, but it was to no avail, with Silva acknowledging the strength of Burnley’s defence as well as their potency in attack left too much for his team to overcome.
On falling behind early on against Burnley
“The team has to rest now and think about the game because it’s difficult when you are losing 3-0 so quickly and you have to think about that.
“After in the second-half, it’s difficult to come onto a pitch after you’ve lost the first-half 3-0. It’s impossible to give this advantage to Burnley, and even after that, it’s difficult to try and come back.
“But I think the spirit is the same; like a pack. We have to stick together, forget this game and think about the next game.”

On the difficulties of breaking down Burnley
“Burnley is one of the best teams in the Premier League at defending. They are a team which is difficult to get through, they are difficult to get to the crosses because they put a lot of people in the box and it’s difficult to score.
“But the coach spoke with us about doing some things to create problems for Burnley, but I think today, it was not a good game for Wolves, but I think the next game will be better.”
On Chris Wood’s hat-trick
“For a striker, I think the best thing is scoring goals. It’s about staying motivated and these goals give confidence to help you help the team. But it’s not only about the goals, but about the work that the individuals give the team.
“Congratulations to Wood, I think he’s a good player, and congratulations for his hat-trick because it’s good for a striker to score.”
