Although happy to see compatriots Nelson Semedo and Daniel Podence – twice – get on the scoresheet at Molineux, the Portuguese midfielder acknowledged that there was still plenty for the players to improve on as they turn their attention back to the Premier League this weekend and the visit of Southampton.
On scoring three in the cup
“It’s very good when you score more than one goal and we were looking to do this. We’re playing well and creating chances.
“We needed to score more goals, but at the same time, we were not at our best defending and they created some chances as well.
“We need to improve on that, it was another clean sheet, but we cannot stop working because today they had more chances [than we would like].”
On possibility of going on a run
“A cup run would be nice. The FA Cup is a special competition, so we want to do the best we can and we want to go as far as we can.
“However, it’s game by game, it’s not about points, just about winning. We’re through the first round and we’ll try to keep going.”
On Fabio Silva’s first start since September
“He did really well. He’s improving as a player a lot in this moment, and he did it again. I’m happy for him, but now it’s up to him to keep improving.
“It’s all about improving to help the team and I’m sure he will.”

On his contribution to the team
“I’m happy with how the team is playing, that helps the players to be better individually as well.
“The team is playing really well and I’m trying to do my best to help the team. Everyone is playing well and we need to keep on going.
“The gaffer says that a lot, but we’ll try to improve and won’t stop because we have a lot to improve.”
