Having taken an early lead, Wolves were pegged back before the break and the Belgian international came close himself to regaining the lead for his side but was denied by Illan Meslier. However, Leeds snatched the win late on, and Dendoncker admits the lack of taking the chances that presented themselves played a key role in the loss.
On opening day defeat
“We played a really good game, especially in the second-half, we were controlling until the 75th minute.
“But then, they brought on a few fresh legs and I think we got a little bit tired towards the end, but except from that, I think we played the perfect game.
“It was just that we didn’t score.”
On being positive in attack
“That’s what we’ve been training on and playing pre-season, during the friendly games as well, and I think they’re doing really great.
“But we’ve just got to score and that’s what we just lacked.”
On importance of getting points early
“It’s the same every season, you just have to get points to be up there.”
Thank you to the travelling pack at Elland Road yesterday.

On further incomings to the squad
“If you looked at our bench, it was just a really young bench, except for Boly and Coady, and they brought on four players and that physicality can make a difference.
“But I thought we were really good, we were playing against a physically strong team, so we have the just keep on improving.”
