The old gold were the better side for long spells against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, with debutant Nunes catching the eye in the middle of the park, but as chances came and went, so did the points. Harry Kane’s header sealed the points for the hosts, but Nunes and Wolves took heart from their showing, and the midfielder is already excited to kick on in his new surroundings.
On his Wolves debut
“I had good sensations. It was my first game, I was looking forward to it, the atmosphere was like I expected it to be. The result wasn’t the best, I think we had the chance to make a better result, but we’ll keep going and next week we have another game.
“It wasn’t perfect, perfect would be a win, but I felt good. I didn’t have too much time to prepare for the game, but I’ve fitted in very fast. My teammates have helped me with this all week, and I can only get better for this.”
On a good team performance
“In the first-half we had very good chances to score, but even in the second-half I think it was balanced, they had chances when we were a little bit more up the field, because we were trying to take a risk to score, but the result is what it is.
“Football is about goals, it doesn’t matter if you play good or bad, the result is what counts, and we didn’t score. We have to keep going like we have been doing and we can only get better.”

On the Premier League differences
“It’s the intensity. Here is much more intense, the football has been very fast. Our teammates and opponents are very good technically, but the main difference is the intensity. It was very good, the atmosphere was unbelievable, different to Portugal, so I just have to keep going and enjoy myself.”
On the Portuguese theme
“They’ve made me feel very welcome. It’s like being in Portugal because I have a lot of Portuguese teammates, but it feels very good. It’s been very good. I know them from the national team, they’ve been very welcoming, but the rest of the staff as well, the club is very familiar because it’s a small city, so I think I’ll fit in very fast.”
On an exciting future
“There’s a lot of the league to go, this is just the third game, we have a lot to work on and will try the best we can.”
