Collins | 'Me and Max are really enjoying it'

Nathan Collins says he and his defensive colleagues are enjoying themselves at the moment, after they chalked a third clean sheet of the season against Southampton on Saturday.

The Irishman has settled into Molineux like seamlessly, forming an impressive partnership with Maximilian Kilman, and their hard work was rewarded with three points against the Saints. It’s another step in the right direction for Wolves, who are up and running for victories now, and Collins spoke of the “good feeling” come full-time on Saturday.

On another clean sheet

“Me and Max are really enjoying it, and Sa there behind us. Even if we change, it’s been solid, so long may it continue.”

On relief at winning

“It’s a really good feeling, honestly. The changing room’s buzzing and I think it was well deserved.

“We had a bad experience again Newcastle the week before, with the last-minute goal we conceded, so we brought that to this game – we didn’t want that feeling again. We showed grit and we showed desire and got the result.”

On handling the Saints pressure

“The first one [Adams chance] was handball. The second I don’t really remember to be fair, but they didn’t score, we got the clean sheets and three points – it’s good.”

On the inner belief at Wolves

“No pressure. This is a really good group, a really relaxed group, and we all have belief in each other and the Gaffer. It showed today, what we have, what we can do, and there’s a lot more to come from us.

“If the fans stick with us this season, it’s going to be a really good season.”
