Sa | 'We need to keep going'

Jose Sa has set his sights on continuing the momentum gained to build on Saturday’s victory over Nottingham Forest at Molineux.

The goalkeeper played a starring role to preserve all three points, diving to his left to save Brennan Johnson’s penalty 11 minutes from time at a crucial stage of the game. Wolves had dispatched a spot kick of their own through Ruben Neves earlier in proceedings, before Sa’s heroics confirmed a second Premier League win of the season. Steve Davis’ side had to dig deep for the points and Sa hopes that fighting spirit will breed confidence to go on and produce another positive result in the next match.

On winning all three points

“It was very important. We had to win this game and we did, so we are happy about this result. Now we need to keep going and win the next one.

“For us to win the confidence and to fight for what comes to us in the next games was very important – we are happy to take this result.”

On saving Johnson’s penalty

“I’m very happy to help the team because it was a very important win for us and of course I’m very happy to help the team reach these three points.

“We study all of the players and I’m happy to save the penalty. I felt that he would shoot to my left and I moved that way with everything, so I’m happy to save it.”

On scoring more goals and working under Davis

“We’ll keep going and keep fighting to score goals and I think they will come to us. We’re happy to not concede goals of course but we need to score too, and I think they will come.

“We are waiting but we are ok to. Steve is good and we’re working very well so we’ll keep going.”

On playing through the pain barrier

“It has already gone. In the past sometimes I had pain in my wrist, but this is the life. I’m here to help the team and the spirit is as a family and to help my colleagues. I’m ok now.”
