12th July 2017 | Having grew up in Paraiba, Brazil, 18-year-old Cunha makes his first move to Europe with Swiss outfit FC Sion, where he scored 10 goals in 32 appearances.

20th July 2018 | After one year in Switzerland, Cunha switches to the Bundesliga and joins RB Leipzig for the start of the 2018/19 season.

26th July 2018 | Cunha finds the net for the first time of his Leipzig career as he scores the side’s second in a Europa League qualifier against BK Haecken.

3rd November 2018 | A first Bundesliga strike came against future club Hertha BSC, as Leipzig recorded a dominant 3-0 win.

8th November 2018 | Cunha ventured into the UK, with a trip to Celtic Park, during Leipzig’s Europa League campaign in which the Brazilian scored six times.

6th April 2019 | The forward scores the Bundesliga Goal of the Month for April 2019 with a strike that was nominated for the FIFA Puskas Award.

25th June 2019 | Cunha was top scorer of the Brazil under-23 side which claimed the Toulon Tournament title back in 2019.

9th September 2019 | More goals for Brazil’s under-23s arrived during the 2020 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament, which secured his country’s place at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

31st January 2020 | During the 2020 January transfer window, Cunha makes the switch to Hertha, before the season is suspended just a few months later due to Covid-19.

16th May 2020 | The Bundesliga is the first major European league to resume following the pandemic, with Cunha finding the back of the net against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

27th May 2020 | Cunha lines up against his former teammates four months after leaving, but is welcomed back to his old stomping ground by Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann.

11th September 2020 | The goals continue for the striker during the 2020/21 season, as Cunha opens his account in the DFB Cup first round against Eintracht Braunschweig.

10th April 2021 | Cunha’s only full season in Berlin sees the forward end with eight goals from 28 appearances in all competitions.

31st July 2021 | Having been called up by Brazil to play in their Olympic team out in Tokyo, Cunha scores a crucial winning goal in his country’s quarter-final victory over Egypt.

7th August 2021 | Cunha would go on to score three goals in Brazil’s five matches at the Olympics, which would include the opener in the final as Brazil overcame Spain 2-1 in extra time.

7th August 2021 | The forward celebrates claiming the gold medal with his Brazil teammate Richarlison.

29th August 2021 | That same month, Cunha makes the switch from Germany to Spain, as he joins Atletico Madrid on a five-year deal.
