Once Daniel Podence put Wolves ahead, the tide turned towards the gold and black, and it took the woodwork to deny Neves from adding a second for his side. But having held out for a first Premier League clean sheet under Julen Lopetegui, Wolves were able to get the points to lift themselves out of the relegation zone.
On winning at home
“We are really happy to have the three points in front of our fans, at Molineux. Thank you to the fans because they made a fantastic afternoon for us, and I hope we did a great afternoon for them as well.
“It was like in the old times today; a fantastic atmosphere, with everyone pushing for us, so let’s hope everyone can build on that because that’s what we want to feel when we’re at home.”

On an important three points
“The way we are playing and the way we are working, we turned a few matches ago, so this was not the turning point for us.
“It was one more game, it was a very important three points for us, and like we always say, we will go game by game.
“Every single game is a final for us and we won this final today, but we’re already thinking about the next one.”
On hitting the crossbar
“It can happen sometimes. Sometimes we score great goals, and sometimes we are a bit unlucky, and today I was a bit unlucky on that shot. But the most important thing for us are the three points.”
Off the crossbar! 😫

Neves shapes onto his right on the angle of the @WestHam box and looks across goal but his curling effort hits the underside of the bar and away. So unlucky.#COYW pic.twitter.com/MUXA6BEgB6
On keeping a clean sheet
“It was one of our main targets. Before the game we spoke a lot about it. If we are able to keep our goal on zero, then we will be able to win the match and we will be closer to winning the match as well, and that’s exactly what we did today.
“We did a fantastic job in the back and I don’t remember a really clear chance for West Ham. They’re game is really hard to defend because they have really strong players and they cross a lot, so it’s about keeping focused and always being at 100 per cent and ready for the crosses, and we did that today.
“Of course, we still have a few things to improve, but it was a great match for us. We controlled the majority of the match, and that’s what we want to do.”
On the whole squad contributing
“People are working really hard, there’s a lot of intensity in the trainings and everyone is involved, every single player in the squad knows that he can play and he can help the team, and that is fantastic for us as a squad.
“Every single player is ready to play and ready to help the team, and that is our mentality. It’s how we want to go from now on.”
