Overcoming the Reds in emphatic fashion just three days ago at Molineux, Wolves were initially meant to take on Liverpool away from home on 10th September 2022, but following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the entire slate of Premier League matches that weekend were postponed.
A new date for the fixture has now been arranged, with Julen Lopetegui’s men due to travel to Anfield on Wednesday 1st March, for an 8pm kick-off. The game will not be broadcast live in the UK.
This means the sides will have gone head-to-head four times during the opening 60 days of 2023, following the two Emirates FA Cup games which were played in addition to the pair of top-flight meetings.
If they were to replicate Saturday’s result at Anfield in March, it would mark the first time Wolves have achieved a league double over the Reds since the 1950/51 season.
Ticket details for the visit to Anfield will be announced in due course.
