The midfielder and his teammates were left disappointed by a flat second-half performance at Anfield, especially after being in the contest until Virgil van Dijk’s 73rd minute header put the Reds ahead. But Nunes is already looking ahead to how Wolves can get back to winning ways in just two days’ time when Spurs arrive at Molineux.
On Liverpool loss
“It was a little bit disappointing. We wanted to win, and I think we played good in the first-half, but the second-half it was not so well again.
“The same thing happened last week, but we need to keep our heads up because on Saturday we have another game more.”
On needing to be ‘stronger’
“He said we have to show more. He said we have to be stronger. We were not so strong in this game, so it’s unfortunate because we wanted the victory, but it is what it is.
“What happened in the game was a lot of players were slipping on the field and we had to go inside and wear plastic boots, and we had to be professional in that sense.”
On turning attention to Spurs
“We don’t have much time. We have to switch our attention straight away because we have another game on the weekend and it’s going to be a tough game, like this one.
“We know what to expect from them, but a lot has changed since that game. A lot of things. So, it’s going to be a different game from that one, but we now have more chances to win.
On playing at Molineux
“We’re going to play at our house, so with the support of our fans, I think we’re going to have more chances to win.
“Playing at home is different to playing an away game. We notice the difference, so we know it’s going to help us.”
