Ruben Neves says he and the Wolves players were determined to enjoy Molineux’s atmosphere, which he described as “one of the best in the Premier League”.
Wolves scored at either end of Tuesday’s clash with Crystal Palace to secure a third win of the spin on home soil and it was Neves who wrapped up the points from the penalty spot in injury time. Supporters got behind their side from the off and with the points in the bag, Neves praised all involved in the latest success story on home soil.
On the Molineux form continuing
“I speak a lot with other players from other teams, and they say it’s really hard to come here and play because the atmosphere is, for me, one of the best in the Premier League. I’ve always said that, since I came here.
“It’s really hard to come and play at Molineux, we know that and we need to use that and enjoy that on the pitch – that’s what we wanted to do. Three wins at home from the last three games, so really good for us, really important for the league.”
On another big win
“We thought a lot about this game. We’ve been in good form playing at home, so we wanted to continue that. We spoke a lot before the game started, a massive game for us, really important for us in our fight.
“Really important three points, but it’s not done yet, we still have five games to play. Anything can happen in the Premier League, but this one was, of course, really important.”

On being hungry from the off
“We knew we needed to push forward from the first minute. We needed to put some pressure on Palace, they have a great team, really good on the counter attack, really talented players, so we needed to push forward in the first five or ten minutes, for the fans as well, to feel we wanted to win the game really hard.
“That was a perfect start for us, we started really well, we scored a goal, and then of course highs and lows in the game. A bit of pressure in the second half from Palace, they have a lot of talented players so it’s really hard to play against them. We kept our goal safe and then at the end was really important, Pedro Neto ran to press and fortunately we scored the second.”
On the group’s togetherness
“That’s a big secret for a team to be successful in the Premier League, everyone needs to push really hard for the same side and I think we are doing really well on that part.”
On Costa’s impact up front
“Diego is a fantastic player. I’m really happy to play alongside him, everyone’s happy to have him at the club. A player that was six months without football came here and is so motivated to help us. I think everyone knows Diego from the past.”
