Hugo Bueno says Wolves can’t be too dejected following the final day loss at Arsenal, with the aim of survival already achieved.
The Old Gold came up against a free-flowing Arsenal side on home soil and were on the wrong end of a comprehensive defeat in the capital. However, Bueno and Wolves achieved their target of another Premier League season earlier this month and, after what has been his breakthrough season in the first-team, the Spaniard is looking to set bigger targets next time out.
On the Arsenal defeat
“It’s very, very disappointing. I think the whole team didn’t deserve it. It’s a really hard one to take, but you just have to try to keep positive because we achieved our aim this season to be safe. We’ll keep working and hopefully we’ll do better next season.”
On the impact of Lopetegui
“Since the beginning, since he came, he was brilliant for us. We saw in our performances and results. I’m really happy for that, because we achieved our aim, but today wasn’t good enough, all of us. We just have to look at ourselves and try to be better for the next one.”
On looking ahead to next year
“Of course, we want to fight for bigger things. I think we’ll have a very good squad next season, so hopefully we will not do like this season, but do better. Who knows. Obviously, we have to work really hard and we better for the next season. The aim has to be better as well.”
