Julen Lopetegui’s first-team group continued their positive pre-season preparations with a training victory over Portuguese second tier outfit SC Farense.
Wolves went into the break with a lead after Nathan Fraser turned the ball home at the far post following brilliant work down the left side from Matheus Cunha, who battled his way past several Farense players before his cross was put into the path of Fraser by Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Lopetegui turned to a more junior side in the second-half, with the introduction of the impressive academy youngsters and returning loanees, and the team were able to see the game out to secure a second victory of pre-season.
Having played 30 minutes each way in the opening win of pre-season against Vitoria on Sunday, Wednesday evening's match of 45-minute halves gave the players an opportunity to get even more minutes into their legs before heading back to Wolverhampton on Thursday afternoon.
