Nelson Semedo was left frustrated by both VAR controversy and Wolves’ second half performance at Bramall Lane on Saturday.
Wolves looked good in the first half, but after failing to make it count, were punished during an eventful second 45 in South Yorkshire. The Old Gold once again felt aggrieved by a penalty decision against them, which led to Sheffield United’s late winner, but Semedo was also unhappy with how Wolves let standards drop after the interval.
On differing halves
“It’s obviously poor because we came here with winning in our minds, which was not possible. We did a good first half but second half I guess we were not good enough.”
On a missed opportunity
“It was a good game to make three points. It’s always difficult in the Premier League, it’s a tough place to play, and in the first half especially, we did enough to come away with more than zero points.”
On the late penalty decision
“Every single week we have to take bad decisions from referees and VAR, they have everything they need, but they keep committing errors. Just in the second half they checked three penalties, I don’t know from where. Even the players from Sheffield didn’t know where they came from.
“We are focused on what we can control, but would like this to be solved, because it’s every single week the same thing.”
On moving on quickly
“This game is gone. Obviously, we’ve got to check the errors we did, we have to improve the team, and we’re going to focus on the Tottenham game. We’ll prepare from Monday, and we will go out to go a good game at home.”
