Dawson | 'We’ll prepare well and recover'

Craig Dawson says you can’t afford to gift Premier League clubs goals like Wolves did on Sunday and he is focused on putting things right over Christmas.

The defender endured a disappointing return to West Ham United on Sunday, with Wolves going down by three goals to nil, ending a run of 15 scoring matches in the Premier League in the process. The Hammers punished Wolves for sloppiness in possession and in defence, but Dawson says the Old Gold must return to the training ground, eradicate the errors and get back on track over the festive period.

On his West Ham frustrations

“Of course, to concede three [was disappointing]. I know more than anyone the goals they score, so we’re disappointed and those moments in the game and we created a couple of chances and couldn’t put them away.

“It’s a tough place to come. I don’t think we were at our best. Credit to West Ham – they punished us on the counter attack.”

On the referee decisions

“I think it’s tough as players. Those moments happen in the game and, as players, we should perform better and do better. It’s disappointing for us to concede three goals but West Ham are a great side, so it’s difficult.”

On regrouping for Christmas

“We’ll get back to the training ground, prepare well, recover and get ready because there’s a lot of games coming up.”
