Matheus Cunha said it “meant a lot” for the group to bring Wolves supporters a victory at the Hawthorns, after his strike put the seal on the derby day win.
The Old Gold won away from home against West Bromwich Albion for the first time in 28 years thanks to Pedro Neto’s first half strike and Cunha’s confident finish after the break. Gary O’Neil’s side can now look forward to the fifth round, with their unbeaten run now extended to seven matches, as the momentum continues to build.
On scoring the crucial second
“It meant a lot and we had to keep going. Neto also finished very well. Another clean sheet, very important for the defenders, so everyone is happy and it’s important to keep winning.”
On dreaming in the FA Cup
“Every competition we’re in, we have belief. We need to do our best and we want to keep going until the end, to Wembley. We need to believe, and I hope good things come.”
On an eventful derby
“I said before the game, derbies are incredible, the atmosphere was amazing, and it was very tough and we’re very happy with the win. I think the most important thing is everyone’s safe. Both teams played well, and I think it was a very good atmosphere.”
On dealing with the pause
“It was OK. After 2-0, we were a little bit calm, and concentrating on the ideas to do, so when we came back for the ten wins, we’d get the victory. I think we did well.”
