Pablo Sarabia was glad to have played his part in helping Wolves to claim three points against Sheffield United, with the Spanish international’s cute headed finish securing the win.
The winger’s first half finish was key to the win after the Old Gold dropped off in the second half, but with the win taking Wolves up to eighth place in the Premier League and on the cusp of the European places, Sarabia is not getting carried away and insists the team will be taking each game as it comes.
On a win over the Blades
“It was very difficult, especially the second half because we had to hold the ball in this kind of situation, but the most important thing was that we got the three points. But we need to improve on this.
“It’s very important for the team today to win the three points and to continue with a very good season. I’m very happy to have helped the team.
“I always try to score, but sometimes I couldn’t. The most important thing is the three points. It doesn’t matter if I score, or if anyone else scores, we are all together.”
On his match-winning goal
“It was an amazing assist because we practice this kind of place in the training, and today it was a very nice goal.
“I needed to find the finish, but in this situation, I know that I only need to touch the ball a little bit because, if not, I will continue with the ball in front of me, so I was glad I only touched the ball a little bit.”
On importance of a clean sheet
“It was very important for us to continue with a clean sheet, and today, that clean sheet was very important for the team, for the confidence and for us to win and get the three points.
“The second half was not very well played, but the most important was getting a clean sheet because of that we were able to win the game and get the points.”

On aiming for European football
“No, we can’t think about that. We just think about continuing as a team and taking it game by game. It’s been a very good season for the team and the targets were different at the beginning of the season, and now it’s true, and it’s amazing for us as we can continue to enjoy where we are in the table now.
“I’m enjoying this season a lot. It was very difficult for me when I first arrived here, because the Premier League was a very different and more difficult that the other leagues. I continued to adapt but now I am enjoying it a lot and much more than last season.”
On going into the FA Cup with confidence
“We have to think game by game. That’s the key for this team. We have to focus on Wednesday which will be another big game, before we come back to the Premier League.
“But the most important thing is to be together at every time. It’s very important to win, especially when you don’t play very well, but now we need to continue together and get more points.”
