Matheus Cunha was disappointed to not give the supporters one final Molineux afternoon to enjoy on Saturday, after what has been a fine first full season at the club for the Brazilian.
The attacker did score his 14th goal of the season, which momentarily brought Wolves back into the game, before Palace killed the game on the break. Cunha and his colleagues have provided some special Molineux moments across the course of the season and is already looking to next year with excitement.
On losing on the final Molineux outing
“It was a tough day. We wanted to finish the season here with three points, to show everyone how good this season has been, and give more good things to them, but it’s like this. We need to keep working and next season do better.”
On getting back in the goals
“I’m completely fine, I want more games. I’ve not been called up for Brazil, but I need to be prepared. I’m so happy here, I did my best with goals and assists, and most importantly by helping the team. It’s felt good to come back again.”
On getting to the next level
“This kind of situation shows how strong we are. I hope the next season comes with more things to help the team, with more players to help the injuries. Next season is coming, we need to keep going for the future and I hope we do better than this one.”
