Marbella Diaries | Day three

Day three in Marbella saw Gary O’Neil’s side step up their pre-season efforts with work in the gym at their Marbella training camp.

The afternoon gym session followed work on the training pitch in the morning, where the attackers and defenders were separated into groups for specific work, before coming together for the end of the session.

Word from the camp

Rayan Ait-Nouri, fresh from representing Algeria over the summer, is enjoying the warmer climate Marbella is offering the Old Gold camp.

Ait-Nouri said: “It’s good weather, different to England. The training is very good, I came back with the team and I’m very happy to see the gaffer and staff. We’ll keep continuing like this to be ready for the Premier League.

“The gaffer gives us some free time and we are very close with the gaffer, he speaks a lot with us, and this is very good. It’s very good for our confidence, I said before that the gaffer is an amazing person and amazing coach, and he’s very good.”
