Marbella Diaries | Day five

Gary O’Neil offered his group a morning off on Saturday to enjoy some downtime after a busy pre-season schedule in Marbella this week.

The group were able to spend the morning how they wanted, with some playing golf, others enjoying time by the pool and resting up, before the hard work continued.

That was the case on Saturday evening, as the group returning to the training pitch for a tactical session, before heading back to base for their evening meal as a group.

Word from the camp

Wolves defender Toti says this trip to Marbella is proving useful for the whole group, not just the players.

Toti said: “It’s good to leave the UK to go to different players, for everyone, not just the players. The weather here is good and we’ve been working hard, so we’ll keep going. It’s not easy because it’s very hot, so the gaffer makes training in the morning, because after the sun is very strong. If we’re working hard, when we go back to the UK it’ll be better. I’m used to it, but it’s never easy.

“It’s very exciting. Still a lot to improve and we’ll keep working hard, but we have a good team with a good gaffer, so we’re going to keep working hard and learning every day.”
