Wolves Stateside | Old Gold on the Everglades

Following Saturday’s win over West Ham United in Jacksonville, Wolves returned to their Fort Lauderdale base for some downtime on Sunday.

Given the day off, as scheduled, the players were offered a trip to the Everglades National Park in Florida, to watch alligators in their natural habitat and in the rescue centre exhibit.

The likes of Craig Dawson, Pablo Sarabia and Jorgen Strand Larsen were present, spending time on the water at the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States, spotting alligators.

After a well-earned rest on Sunday, the Old Gold returned to training on Monday morning at Inter Miami’s base, before a gym session after lunch.

Jose Sa, Nelson Semedo, Pedro Neto and Joao Gomes all reported back on Sunday, following their international commitments, and rejoined training for the first time on Monday morning.

Semedo said: “After the Euros I had three weeks off, so I'm refreshed mentally and physically, and ready to go again. It was my first training on Monday morning, and I felt good. I saw the team really well. I saw the game against West Ham and the guys are doing really well, so let’s keep going and do great things this season.

“Fortunately, I’ve been called up for a few tournaments with the national team. Usually, I come late, even last season I came late because we had two games with the national team, so I came later.

“The travel is easier with your friends [Sa and Neto] and I was sleeping for six hours, so they didn’t have my company, but it’s better to come with your teammates and it was good.

“It was a hard session. The guys are doing really well, I’ve heard they’ve been working a lot the last weeks, but I’m ready to keep going, to work, to be ready physically, and play some minutes.”
