Wolves have been drawn away to fellow Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in the third round of the 2024/25 Carabao Cup.
The draw was made on Wednesday evening shortly after the Old Gold’s second round victory over Burnley, and paired Gary O’Neil’s men against the side from east Sussex for their first meeting since February, where Wolves came out 1-0 winners at Molineux in the FA Cup.
Wolves made it into the third round of the competition following a comfortable 2-0 win over the Championship outfit at Molineux, which saw Goncalo Guedes return to the side after almost two years away to bag a brace, while Brighton reached this stage of the competition by taking apart Crawley Town by four goals.
The sides will now go head-to-head for a place in the fourth round of the competition, with the fixture set to take place during either the week commencing 16th or 23rd September.
O’Neil will be hoping his Wolves side can go at least one better than they did during last season’s competition when they fell out at the third round stage away at Ipswich Town.
Date and ticket information for the Brighton tie will be confirmed in due course.
