After a slow start to August, Gary O’Neil’s group ended the campaign strongly with a victory in the Carabao Cup over Burnley and a solid point on the road at Nottingham Forest.
Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen scored the club’s first goals of the season against Chelsea, despite Wolves falling to Molineux defeat on that afternoon.
The returning Goncalo Guedes hit a brace against Burnley, as the Old Gold progressed in the cup, while Jean-Ricer Bellegarde hit a stunning equaliser at Forest at the weekend.
