Stateside Wolves | Tour ends with Beckham's visit

Gary O’Neil and Wolves were paid a visit by David Beckham during what was the club’s final training session out in Florida.

As the Old Gold prepared to face RB Leipzig at the Chase Stadium, which towers above their training facility of the past two weeks, they met the president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF.

Beckham spent time chatting to O’Neil, who he’d faced during his playing days at Manchester United, while the now Wolves coach was at Portsmouth.

He also chatted to the like of Jose Sa, Pablo Sarabia and Nelson Semedo, who also spent time with former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who both now represent Miami.

Following Wolves’ final friendly out in the United States, against RB Leipzig, the group travelled home to the UK.

Captain Mario Lemina, speaking at the end of the trip, spoke positively about the atmosphere in the camp.

Lemina said: “Last year, in the summer, there was a lot of things going on, so it was really difficult. Now, with the gaffer and the group, the chemistry is doing really well. We all want to work with him, and we know where we want to go, and that’s the most important thing. Everyone’s committed to the plan, and we’ve been really positive and want to do something better than last year.

“Personally, I feel really good, I feel really positive. I feel in shape, and I think most of the players do too. The main thing is to be positive in the work you’re doing so far. We’re all on the same page, we want to work really hard, we want to be something as a team and get chemistry. We’re confident in what we’re doing so far, and I hope it’s going to work for the first game of the season.”
