Hee Chan Hwang says his love of the Premier League is just as strong now as it was when he was watching as a child back in South Korea.
Wolves’ number 11 – now in his fourth season at Molineux – is currently away on international duty with South Korea, for whom he played on Thursday. He departed having helped Wolves to a first point of the season last time out, and now he’s excited to get fully stuck into a new Premier League campaign, having watched the league for as long as he can remember.
On his Premier League hunger remaining
“When I was young, I watched every Premier League game. Playing in the Premier League was my dream, so when I arrived here, I felt very excited. I really wanted to play every game and show my performances.
“When I’m on the pitch I still think I need to enjoy this time – playing and training in the Premier League, that’s why I can give every day 100 percent. That’s good enough motivation.”
On his English improving
“The first and second years I was a little bit busy because I had military service, so I had to go every time to London. I couldn’t have English lessons, but last season I tried to run my English with a teacher and that’s why I’m speaking better, not perfect, but a little bit better.
“If I start speaking English, I can enjoy life more with teammates and that’s what’s very good. I really want good times with teammates.”
On getting a point on the board
“The game [at Forest] was very tough. We tried to win and gave everything. The Gaffer gave us good motivation and we’d already lost two games, so we had to show our character.
“We gave everything and the result was not what we wanted fully, but it’s a good sign to bounce back and after the international break I hope we can win again.”

On the international period
“It’ll be a good break and after the international we have a short time (until the next game) but we can manage our tactics. I’m ready to fight for Wolves, our coaching staff and our team.
“It’s a good sign to bounce back, we have good players, a good gaffer, good coaching staff, and we trust him a lot, and when we’re doing that, very soon we can get three points.”
