Toti | 'We’re going to keep fighting'

Toti believes Wolves deserved something for their efforts against Liverpool but remains confident the results will come soon.

The Portuguese returned following a three-match absence due to injury and was assured against Liverpool, whose winner came from the penalty spot. Toti saw lots of positives in the performance and wants Wolves to focus on the finer details, which is where the game was lost on Saturday evening.

On another positive performance

“It was a tough defeat according to what we did in the game. We started the first half well. It was a bit unlucky to suffer the first goal, but we responded in the second half. Again, another goal because of not paying attention to some little details. Tough defeat again. I think we did very well. We deserved to leave from this game with at least a point.”

On attention on the finer details

“All the details count, especially against these big teams. If you do make some little mistakes, they're going to score a goal and we're going to suffer. We deserved something, we continued until the end, and we tried to respond back again. I didn't see the second goal, so I don’t know if it was a penalty. It was a bit unlucky again.”

On Liverpool’s frustrating winner

“It was straight after our first goal. We responded very well to the first goal, but with these small details, we’re suffering again from the penalty which is tough. We tried to go again. We did everything that we could. Now we need to start concentrating on the next one.”

On the results coming soon

“It’s not easy, but it’s a matter of time. We need to stay calm. We are not in a good phase, but we just need to stick together. The season is long, we've been having some tough defeats against the big teams in the league. We’re going to keep fighting. We still have a lot to prove. I just asked the fans to stick with us, because we're going to keep improving.”
