Matheus Cunha has been voted the SUDU Player of the Month for the third time this season following the Brazilian’s impressive displays during December.
After picking up the awards for August and November, the attacker made it a hat-trick of titles this season after closing out the year with three goals and an assist as Wolves ended 2024 in a positive manner.
Although he blanked in the opening two games of the month, Cunha was back among the goals for the visit of Ipswich to Molineux, scoring what was to be the final goal of Gary O’Neil’s tenure as head coach.

With the arrival of Vitor Pereira, Cunha continued to show his form under the Portuguese, as he played a key role in the 3-0 win away at Leicester City, scoring his side’s third just before half-time.
Cunha was also nominated for the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award for December as he found the net once again in the Boxing Day win over Manchester United, scoring a stunning Olimpico direct from a corner.
Later that game, he also claimed an assist as he laid the ball on a plate for Hee Chan Hwang to get off the mark for the season when the pair found themselves one-on-one with Andre Onana.
Cunha received his third Player of the Month award of the season at Compton Park this week, narrowly beating second place Matt Doherty to December title, while Goncalo Guedes finished third in the voting.
