Matheus Cunha believes Wolves’ quick succession of goals gave them against Blackburn Rovers gave them the confidence to go on and claim their passage into the FA Cup fifth round.
The Brazilian found the net just 100 seconds after compatriot Joao Gomes had opened the scoring Ewood Park after Wolves had overcome a difficult opening 30 minutes in tricky conditions in Lancashire.
But Cunha – who celebrated his new Wolves contract with a second goal in successive wins – is hoping the team can keep their run in the cup going so he can achieve a dream of playing at Wembley Stadium in gold and black.
On securing the win at Ewood Park
“It's a pleasure to score and to play with these guys. Of course, this is the one competition that everyone dreams about to go to Wembley one day.
“Last season, we did well and we nearly got there, and again this season our focus is to win the games and I hope the dream come true and I can play there one day with the Wolves.”

On being confident of making the fifth round
“No, never when you go onto the pitch do you feel like this kind of confidence to win the game. You need to feel the game at the start and after then other things are coming.
“But we knew what it would be like to come here. The pitch today was not the best one, but you understand the weather didn’t help us either, it was windy a lot, so to come here is hard, but we did the job, and we feel very happy.”
On Wolves’ two goals in 100 seconds
“Yeah, 100%. It was the key part of the game. When Joao scored it gave us a little bit of time to breathe, and to score again to make it two-nil, this gave us a little bit more confidence to control the game, and we did it very well.”

On the confidence gained from his new contract
“I try to show everyone how happy I am to be here and to play for this team. I'm so comfortable here and I want to give back for these kinds of things – the good emotion that I have inside.
“But I think everyone can see on the pitch how happy I am, I smile sometimes, joke with my guys, and try everything to win with this team.
“I feel these kinds of details help you to come the pitch and be a little bit more focused and little bit more commitment to the team, to help everyone and then feel like a leader, to protect everyone and to go forwards.”
