Jorgen Strand Larsen says Wolves supporters can hopefully now look forward to having two attackers in the goals, following his return from injury.
The Norwegian had missed the previous three matches with a hamstring before the weekend, but Matheus Cunha scored in all three, as the Old Gold beat Aston Villa, progressed in the FA Cup and pushed Liverpool all the way.
The Brazilian was at it again on Saturday, bagging the winner at Bournemouth, but Wolves were also boosted by the return of Strand Larsen off the bench. The striker made his presence felt to help see out the win, and while disappointed not to net himself, he’s predicting a strong finish to the campaign for the frontline.
On being back with a win
“It’s good to be back. I’ve been feeling ready for a little while now, and I was almost back last week, so it was good to get some minutes on Saturday. A great win, a tough ground to come to, and in the end I think we deserved to win and take the three points. We were a man up, but we should be proud of ourselves, we did a good job.
“One thing is scoring goals, which we’ve done all season, but that feeling of a team not conceding throughout the game is really important. For the goalkeeper, the defenders, everyone at the back, they love that. You see Andre celebrating throughout the game, it means something, and that’s what the gaffer has brought to the team. We really play with our hearts and I feel like that’s been a big change for us and we can build on that.”

On having the man advantage
“It’s different because you have the ball in different spaces than you usually have. I think if we’d have scored an early second, we could have won four or five because they’d have needed to go forward and would have left more space, but at 1-0 you don’t want to take many risks. As a striker, I was a little bit angry that we didn’t score the second, so I could go on and score more goals, but the most important thing was that we won the game and didn’t concede in the last minute which we did earlier in the season.
“Even against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle, we were in the games. Sometimes teams can be better than you, that’s the Premier League, teams are good in this league. To go to Bournemouth is tough, so we can build on this and we’re also in the cup, so a lot of things to look forward to in the next weeks.”
On looking to score
“I’m always coming into games to score goals. I’d been a little bit unlucky before my injury, but that happens, I’m a football player who always works hard and the most important thing for me is to be in front of the goal. I’ve been there all season and was on Saturday again, and if the guys saw me a little bit more, maybe I’d have got a few tap ins. That’s what we build on every day in training and that’s going to come. You see Matheus [Cunha] in a good flow, scoring every game, which is great for us. When I’m back scoring, we’ll have two up there scoring.”
On being in the sidelines
“It was frustrating, but luckily in my career I haven’t been injured too much. Always when you’re injured you want to play, but when I got three to four weeks I was of course sad, but when you look at the guys with knee injuries, I thought I’d make the best of it and be ready when I come back and I felt really good. Of course, you need a few minutes to get started, but the feeling was good and I’m ready to play again.”
