Jean-Ricner Bellegarde says if Wolves are “together and compact” at Bournemouth this weekend, they’ll give themselves a good chance of progressing in the Emirates FA Cup.
One week ago the Old Gold won at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League, with Bellegarde helping his side to victory with an impressive performance off Marshall Munetsi in an advanced role.
The Frenchman has also been given opportunities in a deeper midfield role recently, and is enjoying his football under Vitor Pereira, and is now well prepared for another trip to the Cherries, hoping for another positive result.
On returning to Bournemouth
“It’ll be a very good game for the club. Bournemouth are a good team, and we need to be serious and play strong. I’m hoping for a cup run and believe.
“It’s the same preparations [as last week]. We know this team, they’re a good team, a strong team, so it’s difficult to play at their stadium, but we need to be confident and if we play together, and be compact, we’ll play well.”
On learning from last week
“All the games are different, but if the team stays together, and defend and attack together, you can win all the games. This team [Bournemouth] are confident, you can see it. They don’t lose a lot, so we need to concentrate and defend good.”
On his personal form
“I’m enjoying every day if I can play. It’s a good moment for the team, but I need to help the team if I can. I’m more confident in midfield. I can touch the ball and attack and defend. I’m comfortable there.
“Further forward the striker can open the space for me, and if the spaces are open, I can attack them. It’s not the same profile [Strand Larsen and Munetsi] and we need to adapt to different players.”
