Vitor Pereira praised the impact of January signings Marshall Munetsi and Emmanuel Agbadou after the pair provided important moments at both ends of the pitch in Wolves’ draw with Everton.
Munetsi scored the first goal of his Wolves career under the Molineux lights on Saturday evening to get his side level after they fell behind a few minutes earlier, and although Pereira admitted he wasn’t sure whether the outcome was one point gained or two points dropped in the Old Gold’s battle against relegation, he was delighted for the Zimbabwean to get off the mark.
On being happy with a point
“I don’t know. I can only answer that at the end of the season, because this point could be important or not – it depends. But I’m happy with my players, I’m very proud of my players, and we played a very consistent game against a difficult team.
“We tried everything to win the game and in the second half, we had a period with playing in the offensive midfield, creating situations and stopping the counter attacks, but for me, with this spirit I'm very confident.”
On trying to claim all three points
“I like to see a team playing as a team, running together in the attack, running together when we must defend, and with personality and with confidence in themselves.
“Today, I saw everything, we showed everything and of course I'm not happy with the result, but in the end, it’s one point and one point can be important.”
On Munetsi’s first goal for Wolves
“He deserves it. He really deserves it. It was a pity that he felt something in first half and we cannot take risks with him. There was enough time and he asked the maybe it was better to stay out.
“But I think he deserves it because he's a player that has this speed that I like in a player. He gives everything to try to help the team, and in the end, he scored the goal and he will score more goals, for sure.”

On the impact of Munetsi and Agbadou
“They came to help. They are players that have added quality because they are physically strong and to compete in this league, we need to compete against this kind of team.
“When we look for the set pieces, when we look for a corner, every time it is a big problem to stop them, and we need this physicality.
“I also like the speed of the players on the bench. They went onto the pitch to help the team, and thanks to our supporters because they tried to help us a lot.”
On facing Southampton next weekend
“It is important, it’s very important, but that’s because it’s the next game. When we start to speak about finals, I think if you start to carry it on your back, this responsibility is a problem.
“In my experience, I prefer to think game by game. We got one point today and we’ve got three points before against big teams. But we could lose against a team on the bottom or we could win if we play against a team on the top, because that is what happens in this league.
“This is why this league is the best one in the world.”
