Marshall Munetsi feels the Wolves squad have a renewed energy with every player now giving their all towards helping the team survive after Tuesday night’s win over West Ham United lifted the side further away from the Premier League drop zone.
The Zimbabwean produced another impressive performance full of tireless running for the team in the 1-0 win over the Hammers at Molineux, and could have had two goals but for hitting the crossbar and sliding a late effort wide of the post. However, Munetsi knows the importance of getting the win at whatever cost.
On another three points
“It was a very important victory for us today. The guys really grind for these three points. We have a lot of guys who were playing international football, so obviously the fatigue part was going to be difficult for us.
“But we knew once we got in front, we had to give everything. I think the defence really stood their ground today. A clean sheet, three points at home – this is massive for us.”
On missed opportunities
“It's something that I just have to keep on working. As a midfielder, when you get there with the fatigue, sometimes you just have to remain calm, but today I couldn't do that.
“But the most important thing is the three points that we got.”
On improvements since January
“Some of us were just coming in and we wanted to bring the energy. Everybody knew the situation that we were in and we wanted to give everything for this club, for these amazing fans.
“Matheus [Cunha] is very important to us, he's a guy who's very decisive, and we know now that we should have counted on other guys. Larsen, he's been unbelievable the past few games, so I think it's always important for the team to always be ready whenever somebody's out and to give their best for the club.”

On Joao Gomes’ new contract
“He’s a special talent. The first time that I got here, I knew already that this is a guy that would play at the highest level of football, even for the Brazilian national team, even for us, he’s very important.
“You see how he shows his passion on the pitch, so I think it's very important that the club acknowledged his work and for us as his teammates, we are proud of him and we are happy to have him here.”
