Agbadou | ‘I want to give all for the Wolves’

Ivorian international Emmanuel Agbadou is determined to help Wolves with his defensive skills as well as his leadership qualities after signing a four-and-a-half year deal at Molineux.

The centre-back arrives at the club as Vitor Pereira’s first new addition and the 27-year-old has outlined why he wanted to move to the West Midlands and what is expected from him following his first chat with the head coach.

On signing for Wolves

“I'm happy to be here. This is a great team, an historic club, and I'm just waiting to making my debut.

“I know one African player [Willy Boly] who played here a few years ago, and I was following the club before, so I know that it’s a good team.

“I knew the team before I came, so this is not a surprise for me to be here, so I’m happy.”

On first impressions of Molineux

“My first impression is the city is very nice, and the stadium also. The coach told me that the atmosphere is amazing, so I waiting to see that

“[Boly]’s told me that also. He's like my big brother, so we talk a lot about the Premier League, so he speaks to me about Wolverhampton and he told me good things.”

On early conversations with Pereira

“He told me the league is very fast, because if you have a few seconds that you don't have focus on the game, you can concede one goal. In five minutes, they can put two goals [past you]. So I need to be careful, and after that, he told me he believed in me and he believed in my quality.

“But the French league is a good league and it’s similar to the Premier League, so it’s easier for me to adapt. My experience there it was good, so I think that it will be better for me.”

On what he will bring to the club

“I'm a fast player. For a defender, my body is very weird sometimes for someone. I'm a player who likes to play football, I'm strong also, and I'm a leader in the defence.”

“I think I can use this leadership for this team, and the coach told me about that also, it’s for that I'm here, so I can help him with my leadership.”

His message to Wolves fans

“Hello everyone. I'm happy to be here, I'm waiting to make my debut with Wolverhampton, and I want to give all for the team, and give all for the Wolves.”
