The Canadian has been on Wolves’ books for the past two years, impressing for the under-18s, and has recently broken into James Collins’ under-23s group.
Eye-catching performances up front in the FA Youth Cup played a part in the youngster’s promotion up the age groups and he’s continued to attract plaudits for the under-23s during the opening month of the 2020/21 campaign.
A strike on the opening day against Burnley preceded a goal and assist at Leeds United, while Corbeanu confidently tucked away his penalty in last week’s EFL Trophy shootout win over Bradford City.
On the new deal, Wolves Academy manager Scott Sellars said: “Theo had a good two years in the under-18s, then came back and had a good pre-season, and followed it into the league season. He’s been full of confidence and his performances have been excellent for the under-23s – he’s got himself a few goals, so a lot of people have been talking about him.
“We feel it was the right time to reward him for what he’s done. He’s trained with the first-team quite a lot and they’re pleased with his progress, so it’s a reward for his consistency.
“We’ve always said, our job, ultimately, is to develop local lads, but then we have to search around England and around the world. Theo came from Canada two years ago and has progressed really well. It shows that the talent is out there, not just in England, and it’s our job to try and find them.
“Now, it’s up to him to keep working hard. Let’s see where this season takes him, but he needs to recognise what’s come from his hard work, focus and training, and to keep doing it.”
