The German youth international has spent the last six months developing with the under-23s having returned from a serious ACL injury in his right knee which he sustained on his first-team debut for Wolves against Reading in last season’s Carabao Cup, putting him out of action for almost a year.
Having fought back to full fitness during the summer, Shabani has started the current campaign strongly for the development team, scoring three times and providing three assists in the first half of the under-23s’ Premier League 2 Division 2 season.
Since the start of this season, Shabani has also been part of the first-team bubble, providing support and regularly training with Nuno Espirito Santo and his senior squad, where he has been named among the substitutes for three Premier League fixtures.
To help the 21-year-old further his development, Shabani will now spend the rest of the season on loan at VVV-Venlo in the top tier of Dutch football.
