James Collins’ side got off to a winning start in Group C, with a 2-1 victory at Shrewsbury Town in their opening fixture, coming from behind to seal all three points thanks to a Joe Hodge brace.
The youngsters have since gone on to collect two more points in PL2, courtesy of draws against Fulham and Arsenal.
More recently, last Saturday’s game at Arsenal looked to be heading in favour of the old gold who were a man up for the majority of proceedings. However, despite Ollie Tipton’s penalty giving the visitors the lead at the break, Wolves were unable to capitalise and conceded 10 minutes into the second period, forcing them to settle for a point.

Stockport made a long-awaited return to the Football League this season after gaining promotion from the National League as champions last time out – the Hatters spent 11 seasons in non-league following their relegation from League Two in 2010/11. They’re currently placed 16th in the fourth tier, having collected eight points from their opening nine fixtures.
Dave Challinor’s men are seeking their first three points in the Papa John’s Trophy having been beaten by Port Vale at the end of last month.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, Shrewsbury Town and Port Vale face off in the other Group C fixture at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
“They played a very senior team in their first game against Port Vale. It’s a different style of football we’ll come up against.
“Teams in academy football play out from the back persistently and they’ll play a bit more ‘real football’ with a mixture of longer balls, being competitive and playing some good football as well. It will be a real test for us.
“We’re losing some players for international duty, so it’ll be a challenge for us.
“I said to the players that they’ll learn a lot about themselves from the next two games.”
