The 20-year-old made his return in Wednesday evening’s Premier League International Cup clash with Wolfsburg at Molineux and although the German side were winners on the night, Scott felt it was a game Wolves controlled and their lack of killer instinct in front of goal that meant they left empty-handed. Several chances went begging for James Collins’ men with Scott in the thick of the action himself, being denied by the flag on the one occasion the old gold did find the back of the net. However, despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take for a player who has had to watch from the sidelines for the past few months.
On returning to the fold
“It was my first game back in three-and-a-half months, so it was really good to be back. It wasn’t the result that we wanted but that’s football.
“I think we had five or 10 chances to punish them and we just didn’t take our chances. They got two chances and took them which is the way football works.
“However, altogether, I was really proud of how the boys played.”

On the need to be more clinical
“That was the best performance I’ve seen from a goalkeeper in a long time. Some of the saves he pulled off were top class, so fair play to him.
“I think we’ve got to be more ruthless in taking our chances. I had one where I should’ve scored, Lee (Harkin) had a couple and there were a few others.
“In possession I thought they didn’t get anywhere near us. We passed the ball nicely and just needed to be clinical in the final third.
“We got into the positions, we just need to put the ball in the back of the net and it would’ve been a completely different story.”
On his offside goal and recovering from injury
“I’ve watched it back quite a few times already, but I think it was slightly off – I didn’t time my run as perfectly as I thought I did. It’s one of those where sometimes it comes off and the lino doesn’t see it!
“It’s been tough (the recovery) as it’s been a lot longer than I thought it was going to be. The sports scientists and physios have all really helped me personally.
“I’ve been out running and in the gym doing all of my rehab, so I’m really happy to be back and hope I can keep putting some good performances in.”
