Kaleta | 'We showed good heart and spirit'

Marvin Kaleta praised the heart and spirit of the team as Wolves under-21s twice came from behind to beat Nice on Wednesday evening.

The youngsters secured a third win from three in the International Cup and Kaleta felt the performance was a demonstration of togetherness within the group.

On showing character to come from behind twice

“I think it was a tough game but we managed to get over the line. We did go 2-1 down but the lads showed good heart, good spirit and we ended up winning the game 4-2.

“James definitely prepared us for what we saw today, so we were definitely prepared.

“It was a good demonstration of how together we are as a team and how well we can be when we come together, work hard and support each other. Today showed that.”

On playing against 10 men

“It’s harder than it probably looks. We tried not to overcomplicated it. We tried to create as many chances as we could and I think we dominated the game from there. The scoreline reflected that.

“We wanted a lot of goal mouth action with lots of crosses in the box. That’s where a lot of our goals came from.”

On the International Cup

“It’s a great competition with different players and different teams. It’s good exposure to an international competition.

“We’ve got another game after Christmas so we’re looking forward to that. We always aim to win every game and always do well.”
