Hubner nominated for December's PL2 Player of the Month

Justin Hubner has been nominated for December’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

The under-21s defender showed his attacking capabilities not once, but twice as he hit the back of the net against Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers.

James Collins’ side won one of their three matches in the final month of 2023 and Hubner played a crucial role in three PL2 points at the home of the Foxes.

A 3-1 victory at Seagrave at the beginning of December saw Hubner strike early into the second half as his powerful attempt from inside the area nestled into the top corner.

He then scored the final goal of the year for the under-21s as Hubner headed in late on in a 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

Hubner has captained Collins’ youngsters this season and, this week, made his senior international debut for Indonesia. Last month, Hubner was named in a Wolves first-team squad for the first time in his career as he was an unused substitute at Arsenal on December 2nd.

The winner of the award will be decided by a Premier League panel and announced next week.

Ken Aboh (Norwich), Ryan Bartley (Derby), Luke Harris (Fulham), Callum Marshall (West Ham), Francis Okoronkwo (Everton) and Vicente Reyes (Norwich) have also been nominated.
