U21 preview | Wolves vs Arsenal

Wolves under-21s host Arsenal at Compton Park on Friday afternoon.

Following the change of venue from Aggborough Stadium, the game will also kick off at the earlier time of 1pm as the two sides meet in Premier League 2.

Wolves welcome the Gunners in their first home game of the season following Monday’s 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

During the game at Forest, the Old Gold fielded a young team which included five scholars in the matchday squad – four of which started the game.

However, goals from Dale Taylor and Jack Nadin in the second half meant that James Collins’ side walked away from the Loughborough University Stadium empty-handed.

Meanwhile, Arsenal got their season up and running with a 4-2 victory over Manchester United last Friday.

The Gunners were four goals to the good at half-time and while United pulled two back in the second half, the damage was already done in the opening 45.

Wolves have been victorious in their last two home fixtures against Arsenal, most recently in January this year when a Ty Barnett brace secured all three points in a 2-1 success at Aggborough.
