Edozie | 'Playing under the lights at Molineux is enjoyable'

Tom Edozie admitted he enjoyed playing under the Molineux lights on Wednesday evening but was disappointed to come away with a 3-0 defeat.

Wolves under-21s hosted Ajax in the Premier League International Cup, their third group stage fixture of the season, and Edozie felt the team weren’t quite good enough to get a result on the night, but believes there are positives to take from facing European opposition.

On the performance

“I think it’s a disappointing result but playing under the lights here at Molineux, it’s an enjoyable game to play.

“But back to the result, we weren’t good enough, we’ll go into training to try and fix things to try and get better and rest up.”

On the positives to take away

“I think in the first half we were very positive and direct, that’s something we can take from the game.

“Coming up against a team like Ajax, being able to show we are capable of putting a team like that under pressure is a good thing to take from the game.”

On playing at Molineux

“When you are playing in the academy, playing in the main stadium is something you want to do, it’s enjoyable when you get the chance.”

On the next game

“I think we recover well from this game, work on tactics, see what we can do better to improve and hopefully get a better result.”
