James Collins’ side are already through to the knockout stages of the competition but know victory over the League Two club’s development team will secure top spot in the Group F table and a home tie against one of the other seven group runners-up in the last 16.
Wolves are currently unbeaten in this season’s PL Cup, winning three of their opening five group games, to sit themselves two points behind current leaders West Ham United, who clamed four wins from their six group matches, to finish on 13 points.
The young gold men have already picked up victories over all three group opponents, beginning the campaign with an impressive three points against the Hammers, before a 3-2 win in Tuesday’s reverse fixture at St James’ Park and a 2-0 triumph at Swansea City.
However, their run has stalled slightly in recent weeks, drawing away at West Ham and at home to the Swans ahead of the home tie with Exeter.
The Grecians’ youth side have two points from their five group games thanks to a pair of draws home and away against Swansea, while a 3-0 defeat to West Ham last time out left them bottom of Group F.
